In the studio
LSF is currently
recording the new album in the studio. We are near the end of recording 15
songs and are very excited about the new material. Most, but not all, have been
performed live at our recent shows. Check out pictures and videos that are
coming down the line capturing all the fun and calamities.

FIMU Belfort, France. May 2007
Lost State of Franklin just stepped off the plane
from what David says was, “Everything we’d hoped for, but more than we
imagined." Over the course of three days, Lost State of Franklin won the hearts
of people from all over Europe at the FIMU International Music Festival. They
played to crowds of thousands and sold every last bit of merchandise. Did we
mention autographs? There must be nearly 500 fully autographed LsF cd’s in
Europe. A lot of our good fortune is thanks to the networking and promotions
done by Jack & Francois of Switzerland. They assisted us immeasurably.
Lost State set out to do you proud and that’s exactly what happened. They were
even invited into the community for private performances. One was a morning
concert for 40 in a Victorian apartment with balcony overlooking the fountains,
bridge and river.
Another happened when Lost State showed up to an after hours musician party. We
were asked to play, but did not have any equipment. So…equipment was provided,
sort of. David played a tiny electric bass, Tyler played a drum set for the
first time ever and Scott received an acoustic guitar that didn’t plug in. Rob
was the only person playing anything similar to his usual. With foreign
instruments and Scott ‘s guitar that no one could hear: It was all about the
show. Barely anyone spoke English, yet Lost State kept a sweaty, packed room
dancing and smiling for an hour straight.
One afternoon, Tyler lent her washboard to a 12 year old boy from Madagascar who
spoke no English. He was a hand drummer and had no idea what to do, but she
showed him how to use the brush-sticks and it was like magic…he understood how
to accompany Rob and they played an impromptu sidewalk set for a gathering
crowd.
Special thanks to Xin, who was our guide during our stay for FIMU.
